New Slipknot

New image new album. The songs which have been revealed recently are pretty different to their older stuff, heavier I think, and I really like them. A lot of people complain about the band becoming mainstream, but really they have always been mainstream. However the new album seems to be the farthest away from a popular interest compared to their other ones, but no doubt it will be just as successful. Album out 25Th august.

Samsung Series 6

After realising I simply will not have enough room for my 32 inch TV at university I scouted around for a new TV in the 19 inch range and stumbled across the Samsung Series 6 LCDs. They're rather pricey, but worth the looks.

Are You Scared review

Take Saw, minus the clever deaths, minus the originality, add some terrible acting and rubbish music and you come close to Are You Scared. 6 people wake up in a warehouse and are killed in various boring ways by a guy watching them on camera. It really is just a poor copycat of Saw. 2/10.

Watchmen.

If you haven't already read the Watchmen graphic novel by Alan Moore then you need to. It's utterly brilliant. And the trailer for the movie is here and I swear I have never been more exited in my whole life.

Max Payne Movie!

I loved the game and now there's a movie adaptation in the works. Looks good, let's hope it doesn't disappoint like some other game films (silent hill!).

Hammer Horror

I have just finished watching She and must express my gratitude towards the Hammer Horror film production company. The films they created seem to be many things at once; entertaining, corny (in a good way), chilling and nostalgic to mention a few. And the actors always speak with proper British accents. Classic cinema.

House Of Wax review

Yet another rubbish horror movie to grace our DVD collections. There's some bad acting against a film with a pretty terrible plot about people getting turned into live wax models which doesn't even begin to be scary in the slightest. There was one good bit though; watching that silly blond Paris Hilton get owned. 3/10.

15 Storeys High

15 Storeys High is a great comedy starring Sean Lock and is totally underrated. Here's one of my favorite scenes.

50 Mega Pixel Madness

Just read on gizmodo about camera manufacturer Hassalblad releasing a 50 mega pixel camera. Quite unnecessary but I bet you could inlarge an image to a ridiculous size. Good thing is, it will only cost you £18,500. Bargain....

O how I love the mini mix

This week Roni Size and Ladyhawke were the mini mix DJs on Radio 1, and the mixes were gorgeously crated slices of musical genius available to download at http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/podcasts/r1mix/.

The Hamiltons review

I didn't expect to enjoy this film but i did. It is extremely odd and you will feel left in the dark for most of it, but it is the secrecy throughout the film which creates a desire to keep watching, and it is well worth it. The Hamiltons is a great film and well worth a watch. Awesome.

Diary of the Dead review

Well, George A. Romero brings us another zombie installment and i just watched it. And it's fucking brilliant. The style of filming is a lot like amature home camera films which creates the 'diary' effect of the movie, but it is also edited to make it into more of a linear plot with music and transitions. There is a real variety of scenes which are extremely entertaining; some are tense and emotional whereas others are gory and quite amusing. It is great to see how different characters react to the situation around them, and i think this is what sets this piece apart from other zombie movies. Of course I am not about to say it is better than Night of the Living Dead, but for me it comes very close. 8/10.

Skullcandy headphones

Skullcandy headphones are pretty expensive and look quite good which would lead you to believe that they are worth buying. They are not. Awful sound quality with minimal bass topped off with a horrible fit create a most unpleasant listening experience. Avoid.

Boo (short) review

Well am i glad i rented before i bought. Boo is badly written, badly acted, badly directed and just generally bad. It isn't even entertainingly bad. Poor.
