X Files- I want to believe review

As a huge fan of X Files I went to see the film on day of release expecting an intense blockbuster much like the first movie, but I was left slightly disappointed. The film itself was not bad, it was interesting and well written, with the usual unexplained phenomenon for Mulder to believe in and Scully to criticize. However the reason I was left slightly disappointed was that it didn't feel like a film; it felt like an extended version of a normal X Files episode. There was no sense of it being the sort of thing you would watch at the cinema, mostly because it was heavy on dialogue with quite mundane settings. It was still entertaining, especially if you are a fan of the television series, but maybe one to rent on DVD rather than watch on the big screen. 5/10.
